Weekly Update: The Classic, JAY-Z Review and more

Just a quick update on some plans I have heading into this weekend…

First off, this Saturday – by some miracle – I’m going to be at Dodger Stadium watching the Eagles play a concert in real life. Is this for real!?!?!? I can’t believe it. They will be headlining a two-day festival called ‘The Classic’ with Fleetwood Mac and some of the other biggest bands from the 1970s, including Steely Dan, Journey, The Doobie Brothers and Earth, Wind & Fire.

The Eagles have always been one of my favorite groups from the classic rock era and the fact that they somehow managed to give it another go around still has me blown away. I’m bummed that Glenn Frey won’t be there on stage (rest in peace) but everything aside, to say I’m looking forward to it is a massive understatement.

I’m also planning on doing an official review of the new JAY-Z record, 4.44. It’s been creating some huge buzz on the internet and in the hip-hop community alike, and I’m really digging it so far. It wasn’t until a few years ago that I backtracked through most of JAY-Z’s catalog and now I would say he’s definitely one of my favorite guys from the ’90s out of the East Coast. I’m hoping to have that done and posted within the next week and a half.

I got a lot of positive feedback on Twitter after my first post and I just want to say thank you to everybody who took that precious millisecond of their time to click on the link and check the site out. Much love.

In the meantime, here’s a playlist of some songs that I’ve been listening to over the past few days.

And in light of the concert this weekend, it’s only appropriate that I wrap this post up one way.

Take it easy… RIP Glenn Frey!
